Orioles Involved In Mega Deal
Written By Baltimore

The Orioles announced today that they have reached an agreement on a three team trade involving twenty players and three draft picks. Texas and San Diego are the other teams involved.

Moving from Baltimore to San Diego will be 2B Jose Ronda(.257-0-6), MR Josh Fogg(1-1, 7.30 at AAA), and MR Lance Easton(2-0, 5.82 at AA).

Going from Baltimore to Texas will be SS Joaquin Arias(.053-0-0), LF Robert Deitch(.227-10-33 at AAA), 3B David Williams(.224-5-15 at A), and their first and third round picks in 2013.

Going from Texas to San Diego are RF Cory Sullivan(.315-4-32), CF Andruw Jones(.267-9-30), and MR A.J. Murray(1-0, 3.00).

Going from San Diego to Texas are RF Harry Ennis(.217-2-7), CL Josh Axelson(2-0, 1.17 13sv at AAA), MR Jose Lozano(1-1, 9.68 at AAA), RF Daniel Flores(.269-7-33 at AA), SP Joseph Vincent(4-4, 4.04 at AA) and San Diego's second round pick in 2013.

What does all of this activity get the Orioles? Well, from San Diego they will be getting SS J.T. Stotts(.283-1-18) and MR Rob Raiford(4-0, 4.21 at AAA). From Texas, they will be receiving C Brad Nelson(.274-14-39), 2B Drew Meyer(.282-5-33), SP Kiki Bengochea(3-7, 4.01) and MR Scott Williamson(0-1, 8.10).

With this deal the Orioles certainly seem poised to make a run at the division title. Currently in third place, the Orioles are just 8 games back from first place Boston.
